General Information and Application Checklist
Pashli; part of CCI Ireland (www.ccireland.ie) and the HOPE Centre (www.hopecentre.ie); have been working in Belarus since 2004. Our work has involved extensive restoration work in an orphanage, old peoples home and other local facilities in the town of Vilejka. We have also run 8 residential Christmas camps for up to 80 local children from the orphanage or disadvantaged families in the Nedershda complex just North of Vilejka and now in the orphanage also. Since 2008 we have been bringing children to Ireland for rest and recuperation holidays. More information is available by logging on to our Facebook page 'PASHLI' or the other pages here on the website.
Applications are now being accepted for to take part in the 2021 Belarus Work / Missions Trip. This trip will combine; building, restoration, decoration work alongside children's work and outreach activities. All team members may be asked to take part in different parts of the work. We will try and match your actual tasks to your stated interests in as much as is possible, but please understand this may not be possible in all cases. It will be necessary to obtain Garda Clearance for team members and two separate referees (not family members) are required for each person.
The cost of the trip will be €1,000 per person. Final payment due 14th March 2021 (€300 Deposit by Sunday 24/01/2021)
Fee includes Travel, Food and 'Accommodation' provided by Pashli, if you wish to stay in a nearby hotel there is an extra charge of approximately €20 per night. Also, if travelling on an American passport there will be an additional charge of approximately €100 for the Belarussian visa.
Each team member should have up to date inoculations for Diphtheria, Tetanus, Typhoid and Hepatitis A, this is no longer mandatory but is strongly advised, the average cost of these are around €150, payable by you.
Pashli policy states that all applicants; if accepted; must NOT be intoxicated to any degree while travelling or on any trip and must not attempt to return with any prohibited items such as cigarettes.
It is necessary to apply for Travel Visas to enter Belarus and for this purpose it will be necessary to send team members passports to London for approximately two weeks. This is planned to happen in the first two weeks in March, it could however take longer to process them as it has taken up to three weeks in the past. Should you be planning to travel in this period it will be necessary to bring this to our attention to try and accommodate your situation. All passports must be in date for at least six months after 1st May 2021.
There will be at least three compulsory team meetings to attend before travelling and all other relevant information will be presented at these.
While on the trip there are two meetings per day, one in the morning and one in the evening, that you must attend. These meetings are not just organisational meetings but are meetings where we as christians come together to thank God for all He gives us and all He will give to us in that day. We do not ask you to "convert" but we do ask that you as a team member attend these meetings and be respectful at all times during those meetings.
All cheques to be made out to 'Pashli' and crossed. Receipts will only be issued on request.
You can start your fund raising now by going to http://www.idonate.ie/pashli and creating an event for people to get money to you for this trip. You can also send this to people who wish to contribute online to what Pashli does all year round.
